How’s everyone doing? I’m currently operating on less than two hours of sleep and I have class until ten tonight. If I die, bury me at Makeout Creek.

I’m doing very well at present. I’m working tonight, then finish early hours of tomorrow morning but when I finish I’ll have ten nights off, a car to clean Wednesday, Thursday is my birthday and I’ve another car to clean then. So ye’, pretty darn good right now.

Why have you only had two hours sleep if you’ve such a long day ahead? I’m guessing it wasn’t out of choice.

That sounds pretty swell. Does the car cleaning noticeably drop off as winter rolls in? I know England’s winter isn’t terribly harsh.

Yeah, my anxiety kept me up really late. Now I’m drifting in and out of consciousness on the train.

I’m doing alright. Odd thing to be excited about but I get my new shower head in for the shower today and I can replace the piece of CRAP one that my wife encouraged me to put in there.

I just want a shower that doesn’t suck. That’s not too much to ask right?

It drops off from November onwards to two or three cars a month for maintenance washes to remove the salt and traffic film.

Anxiety about the day ahead or something else? Try and keep your energy levels up with sweet foods but nothing heavy as you’ll briefly sap your energy processing the food and it’ll be like hitting a brick wall. If there is somewhere you can grab half an hour shut eye, do it. That brief nap followed by a strong coffee should hopefully see you through.

Nope. A shitty shower can ruin your day.

Solid stuff.

And yeah, was worried about missing my train and finishing a paper (among other things). I will definitely try to track down some decent food, but I think my time for napping has come and gone. Thanks for the help!

No worries.

With anxiety. Try sleeping on your most comfortable side and if after ten or so minutes you can’t stop thinking about a particular aspect of the day ahead, roll over to your other side and stay there for about five to ten minutes and then roll back (your brain is divided down the centre into two parts (okay, lobes), blood will gather more in the lowest part, rolling over and staying there and then rolling back, shifts the balance and usually enough to stop thinking about what you were thinking about), now your not thinking about anything in particular focus your attention on breathing. Imagine there is a ping pong ball a little in front of your nose. Your aim is to breath through your nose and not to move the ball so breathing a normal breath, breath in and out very gently. If you find yourself short of breath, stop the task for a couple of minutes and then start over. This is usually enough to lull yourself off to a relaxing sleep.

The mind and body are amazing but can be tricked into doing what you want it to do when you need it to.

Interesting fact, did you know that how you breath out of your nose changes hour on hour. One hour you’ll prodominantly breath out of the left nostral and then the next hour the right and so on.

It looks a lot when reading but the task itself is easy and you’ll be asleep in half an hour.
